Nikola Jokic’s hilarious response to Aaron Gordon’s dunk
In a blowout 129-104, Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon nailed another highlight reel dunk against the Golden State Warriors, prompting a hilarious response from the All-Stars Nikola Jokic. Nearly two weeks removed from his spectacular slam against the Phoenix Suns, Gordon added a new record for the NBA season so far in slam dunks.
After Friday’s win, a reporter mentioned Gordon’s dunk to Jokic, who had no idea what dunk the journalist was alluding to what he said was Ryan Greene of DNVR Sports.
“I really don’t remember,” Jokic said. “What’s impressive?”
Then the reporter showed Jokić a video of Gordon’s mentioned dunk.
“I was open,” Jokic hilariously joked before dead-hitting reporters in the Nuggets locker room and leaving.
Reporter: What did you think about (Aaron Gordon’s) dunk?
Nikola Jokić: “I really don’t remember… Was it impressive?”
Journalist: “It’s good.”
Joker: *Looks at the climax* “I was open.” 😂

Gordon, who turned 30 last September, proving he can still fly with the best of them. The three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest runner-up (2016-17, 2020) is still regarded as one of the league’s electric dunkers, despite never winning the annual high-flying competition on All-Star Weekend.
In the final round of the 2016 slam dunk contest, Gordon battled Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine in what many NBA fans consider to be the greatest slam dunk contest of all time.
Nikola Jokic on the Nuggets’ ‘many weapons’ after the win

Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokić addressed the numerous weapons around him and Aaron Gordon, who helped secure the franchise’s last championship in 2023, in what was undoubtedly one of the more important games on both sides of the floor. Amid a Grade 2 hamstring strain, Gordon played in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Thunder last season.
The Game 7 loss led to a series of offseason additions that Jokic believes make the Nuggets more dynamic ahead of their pursuit of another deep playoff run.
“We have a different option, different lineups. We respect each other, and if someone goes well, we get the ball,” said Jokić. “We have so much action and movement, we have so many weapons and we use them all as we get used to it.”
With a chance to go 7-2, the Nuggets will host the Pacers on Saturday.
