De’Aaron Fox announces return from injury with first bucket in 2025-26

De’Aaron Fox recovered from the injury when he returned to action in San Antonio Spurs match against New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night.

Fox did not appear in the Spurs’ first eight regular-season contests. He was dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined, delaying his season debut with the team.

Fox was getting ready for his second season in San Antonio after being acquired from the Sacramento Kings last year. He averaged 19.7 points, 6.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game over his 17 appearances.

Star guardian clarified his return during the second quarter against New Orleans. He held the ball at the top of the key, putting himself in great position to knock down a three-pointer with ease.

San Antonio took solid control in the first half, leading 66-58 at halftime. Although New Orleans tried to keep the game close, the hosts made enough plays down the stretch to secure the home win and improve to 7-2.

Rebounding and ball movement made the difference in this match. The Spurs won in both categories with 43 rebounds and 31 assists. It was not the same for the Pelicans, who finished with 40 rebounds and 27 assists.

Eight players scored in double figures for San Antonio, including Fox. He led the way with 24 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
