Lou Williams ‘not feeling’ JJ Redick overreacting to Hawks loss

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick to say the least, he doesn’t take losses well, and that caught the attention of the former NBA player Lou Williams.
After the Lakers were knocked off the floor in a 122-102 loss to the shorthanded Atlanta Hawks, Redick made it clear that no one was too happy with their team’s effortsaying he saw “nothing” from his team in the first two minutes of the game. He said he knew at the time it’s going to be a tough night.
While some praised Redick for his competitiveness and honesty, his temper and obvious frustration during and after games earned him criticism from fans and analysts alike. Williams, who played for the Lakers from 2015 to 2017, is one of those people. at least in view on Redick’s recent postgame reaction.
“I don’t like it,” Williams said. And if I’m a player, I don’t like it, especially, we’re on a good run, we’re in a good season. Let’s not overreact and make this look like it’s not going our way this season. We’re having a pretty good season, and JJ should know as well as anyone that nights like this happen. Games like this happen.
“Now, his reaction can be his reaction, but if I’m one of the players and I’m one of the guys playing for him, I don’t really feel that reaction. … We’ve got 46 minutes left to play, so you tell me in those first two minutes that you knew we weren’t going to have a good game, or you didn’t see any of our responsibility. The energy that we need or we’re not delivering in some way, then put us in those positions.”

Technically, both Williams and Redick may be right; the players themselves may not like their coach’s public comments after the disappointing loss, but it’s possible that Redick, whose team is off to a 7-3 start, knows his reaction will get his players’ attention moving forward.
Tonight’s road game against the Charlotte Hornets should be a good test to see if Redick was right, especially with LA having the week off and not having to travel far to play a team that has lost three of its first 10 and five of its last six. Austin Reaves, who missed Saturday’s loss to Atlanta, is expected to will play tonight in Charlotte.
