Fans throw ‘Nico Harrison fired a shot’ outside the AAC
A few months since Dallas Mavericks shocked the basketball world trading generational superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles LakersDallas fans had only one big wish: for the team to fire the general manager Nico Harrison.
They finally got their wish on Tuesday, when Dallas decided to move away from the man many see him as the chief engineer of Dončić’s trade. And with Harrison fired, it seems many fans in the Mavericks realm are celebrating a huge development.
A group of Mavs fans even marched outside the American Airlines Center in Dallas for the partyas seen in a video shared by FOX 4 NEVS’ Steven Dial via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

With fans wearing party hats and Kool & The Gang’s iconic “Celebration” playing in the background, it was easy to tell how they felt about Harrison’s firing. There was even a cake with the message “Bring Luka home!”
Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi take over as Mavericks co-GMs after Harrison leaves, but it’s hard to imagine Dallas making a successful move to bring Doncic back from the Lakers. The Slovenian superstar seems to be having a good time in La La Land, and the Lakers are clearly enjoying the big upside he brings to the table every night.
So far in the 2025/26 NBA season, Doncic has averaged 37.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 9.1 assists, while for the Lakers, who are 8-3 in 11 games, he is shooting 49.1 percent from the field.
