Zach Lowe suggests the Bucks Anthony Davis be traded to pair him with Giannis

Recently, the Finally, the Dallas Mavericks pulled the plug on The Nico Harrison Experiment by firing the infamous general manager who shockingly traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers nine months ago. The Mavericks will now look to embrace a new generation of basketball led by NBA draft lottery pick Cooper Flagg, who Harrison later falsely claimed was part of his “vision.”

With Harrison now out of the picture, many speculate that the Mavericks could now make moves to release some of the veteran talent from their roster and fully embrace a rebuild, including both Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving.

Recently, NBA insider Zach Lowe of The Ringer was on the Zach Lowe Show propose an interesting trade for Dallas.

“You can deal with (Kyle) Kuzma, plus Myles Turner, plus a first-round pick, for Anthony Davis. I’m just saying. The team’s playing pretty well, and then again, whenever a team trades for Anthony Davis, you probably have to eat that addition … just, Giannis and AD? OK, I can go with that, NBA Court,” former Love said.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34) reacts against the Dallas Mavericks during the first quarter at the American Airlines Center.

The Milwaukee Bucks have played solid basketball this year, not looking like the Eastern Conference players many expected them to be. With so many injuries puzzling the conference, it would make sense for the Bucks to fully push their chips into the middle of the table in hopes of landing another star to pair with Antetokounmpo.

The only problem would be that there is little to nothing in the way of perimeter shooting with Davis and Antetokounmpo on the floor together, which is not sustainable from your two best players (just ask the Orlando Magic).

There’s also the issue of Davis’ health, which has already been an issue this year for the Mavericks.

Whichever path they choose, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Mavericks explore some trade options in the coming weeks.
