Draymond Green disparages Kevin O’Connor after harsh criticism from ‘old men’
On Tuesday evening, The Golden State Warriors are down to 6-6 with the loss of the road in the explosion at hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors trailed in this game by 35 points entering the fourth quarter despite having the entire rotation at their disposal, which clearly shows how big the gap is between them and the true contenders in the West.
After the loss, NBA reporter Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo took to Threads to bemoan Golden State’s slump, noting Draymond GreenJimmy Butler’s decline and tendency to come up short in big moments.
One person who didn’t relate to that sentiment was Greene himself, who answered in the comments section (via warriorsworld on X, formerly Twitter).
“And I’m sure I know more about winning than you do,” Green wrote. “You couldn’t win your international sports and you thought it was a good idea to become an ‘NBA writer’… and if you want to do some in-depth analysis and analysis of the game, I’ll embarrass you for that too.”
Frustrating times for the Warriors

Green’s anger is evidence that the Warriors’ veterans are struggling to come to terms with their NBA mortality, which has been on full display this year. The Warriors have made a habit of getting off to hot starts before quickly crashing to Earth in recent years, and that trend continued once again in 2025-26, with the team losing to both contenders like the Thunder and cellar dwellers like the injury-plagued Indiana Pacers.
It remains to be seen how the Warriors adjust from here, as the team is unlikely to try to part ways with any of their star talent.
However, this was certainly a frustrating start for a team that believed they had championship expectations.
The Warriors will next take the floor on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
