Nikola Jokić sets a new score in the first half of the match against the Clippers

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is truly the kind of guy who shows up to work and gets the job done, no matter what — even if he sometimes seems disinterested.
On Wednesday, he casually dropped 33 points in the first half against the Los Angeles Clippersincluding 25 points in the first quarter. He made plays with every defender thrown at him while scoring from a variety of angles. He shot 10 of 15 from the field, including 4 of 5 from three-point territory.
At the same time, Jokić set the highest performance in one half this season, further emphasizing his quiet greatness.

However, the Nuggets lost by five points at halftime, 68-63.
Jokic had to sit out the first half after Cam Johnson and Christian Brown were forced to leave the game with hand and ankle injuries. Both were questionable to return.
Carrying the Nuggets, who are riding a five-game winning streak, is nothing new for Jokic, but one has to wonder what the mileage is, especially with their deep playoff runs and participation in international tournaments with Serbia.
But the 30-year-old center has always been a consummate professional and takes his duties seriously. If Brown and Johnson are out for extended periods of time, don’t be surprised if Jokic puts up bigger numbers in his next games.
The three-time MVP is already having a historic seasonand his monster half against the Clippers only added to that.
As of this writing, Jokic has scored 52 points on 17-of-22 shooting as the Nuggets blew the game open in the third quarter.
