There is simply no stopping the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite it being the second night in a row, they were thoroughly dismantled 8-3 Los Angeles Lakers led by Luka Doncic. They wasted no time putting pressure on the defensive end, resulting in them pounding the Purple and Gold in every way possible. By the time halftime rolled around, OKC had a 32 lead over a Lakers team that supposedly had the upper hand the rest of the way.

This Thunder team is simply relentless and leaves their opponents with no room for error. The Lakers, however, played into their trap time and time again, and this sloppy basketball turned into what became a night to forget. It’s impossible to beat the Thunder when you turn the ball over 20 times.

With this game on national television, this Lakers loss becomes even more embarrassing. The fans were merciless towards them on X, while Doncic and the rest of the team were trolled for their poor performance against the reigning champions.

The Lakers need LeBron James to reach his full potential

In games like the one the Lakers had to endure Wednesday night is when they miss LeBron James so much. James provides so much value as a rim-attacking playmaker who can create his own shots from the perimeter, and his contributions on the boards and on the glass cannot be understated.

It is not entirely clear when James will be coming back from a nerve injury. But the Lakers will only be able to win these big games with his two-way contribution. Doncic and Austin Reaves are so reliant on creating the perimeter that the dimension James would provide to the team should provide some relief.
