Ja Morant gets significant injury information for Saturday’s Cavs matchup

When Memphis Grizzlies fans hear news regarding I Morantthey instinctively clench their stomachs and pray for the best. However, they received an encouraging update on Friday. Dynamic and unpredictable point guard, who missed the team’s last competition due to ankle problemis outside of the injury report for Saturday’s road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to NBA correspondent Marc Stein.

Perhaps a showdown against Donovan Mitchell and the title-contending Cavs will give Morant the emotional boost he needs to snap out of his funk. The 2022 All-NBA Second Team selection and two-time All-Star failed the dreaded november slate so far, shooting 28.7 percent from the field and averaging 5.8 turnovers over the past five games.

Fans would usually attribute the problems to injuries or just a rough stretch, but there’s a woolly mammoth in the Memphis locker room, and that raises a big question. Can Morant and the Grizzlies move forward efficiently and amicably?

The 26-year-old had a heated exchange with head coach Tuomas Iisal following the Halloween loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. He then publicly expressed his displeasure with the media and was suspended for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. Both claim to have squashed the beef, but a nagging sense of unease still hangs over this franchise.

Fans are dying to see a vintage Ja Morant performance, as it will give them a semblance of hope. Ideally, he’ll break out in Cleveland. The Grizzlies (4-9) take on the Cavs (8-5) at Rocket Arena on Saturday, starting at around 5pm ET.
