The Pistons go back in time against the Sixers
The Pistons are back on the floor without most of their personnel, but that doesn’t stop them from being competitive. After a balanced first quarter (28-27), the Sixers accelerated with several rewarding baskets. But on the Detroit side, it falls far, so much so that JB Bickerstaff’s men logically lead at the break (63-54).
Recovery is difficult for the Pistons, stifled by Philadelphia’s defense and plagued by turnovers.
The Sixers can run and score. They are 14-0 and seem to have the wind at their backs. That’s without counting Dennis Jenkins who completely revived his team at the end of the quarter, especially with a basket from behind the halfway line at the buzzer! The Pistons then came back (88-90) and you can feel it at the beginning of the last act.
Tyrese Maxey is doing his best to keep Philly alive, but Caris LeVert’s 3-point audacity will allow the Pistons to win 114-105 for their ninth straight game.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
– Another Pistons win without a starter. Once again without Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Tobias Harris, Ossar Thompson and Jaden Ivey, Michigan’s players manage to keep the scores going as they already beat Chicago under these conditions. The Sixers were able to shake them down in the third quarter, but without a complete kill, which allowed them to have a chance in the final twelve minutes.
– Deniss Jenkins always shines. Decisive in money time against the Wizardsthen the author of a double-double against the Bulls, the playmaker continues to accumulate good outings, this time with 19 points and 8 assists. Above all, he shot 5/8 from beyond the arc and his (very long) basket at the buzzer in the third quarter did his team a lot of good.
– Detroit has won nine in a row. To see Detroit win nine games in a row again, you have to go back to February 2008! This is therefore the first for the franchise since the 2007/08 financial year and this success confirms the first success in the Eastern Conference for JB Bickerstaff’s troops.
