Is Jackson Dart still New York’s KB of the future?

When is it The New York Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll after failing to hold a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears, questions began to arise about the team’s future. Who would take over the role of interim coach? Would Joe Schoen remain general manager? And perhaps the most important question of all: whether Jackson Dart25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, still the Giants’ quarterback of the future? New York quickly named offensive coordinator Mike Kafka as interim head coach and confirmed Schoen will be part of the next head coaching search.
As the team waits Dart’s return from concussion protocolthey have not publicly confirmed the status of newcomers within the organization. Still, his sample size of seven games is plenty dismiss all rumours of his removal as the team’s next head coach, says Diana Rusini of Athletic.
“As for the job itself, he will be wanted. And the reason is simple: Jackson Dart,” Rusini wrote. “There’s no question in New York: He’s the quarterback of the future for Big Blue.”
Although Giants ownership and Schoen have not met to discuss the desired qualities of their next head coach, according to Russini, they believe Dart is a key part of their future after trading away three future draft picks to select the Ole Miss product.
Dart enjoyed a solid rookie season. Besides having to learn to avoid the big hit, he showed off his talent for hands and mobility. In seven games, Dart totaled 1,427 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. He added 317 more yards on the ground and seven more touchdowns as a scrambler. It has also reduced turnover in recent weeks, reinforcing its growth in the first year.
While the Giants’ 2-8 record is disappointing, knowing they have Dart under center should make it easier heading into an uncertain offseason.
