Draymond Green goes face-to-face with a fan in a wild moment against the Pelicans

Draymond Green is never the type to quit when he feels as if he is being mocked. On Sunday evening, during Golden State Warriors‘ 124-106 beat New Orleans Pelicans, Green confronted the fan sitting in the front row noticed the treasure in a wild moment when he saw the two almost chest to chest yelling at each other.

Apparently, according to ESPN, he’s fighting created by the fannamed Sam Greene, mocking Greene by calling him “Angel Reese”. This particular taunt stemmed from a play earlier in the game in which Green missed five shots near the basket and blocked them all — evoking memories of the Chicago Sky forward, who is known among basketball fans for just that type of play.

Green didn’t take too kindly to this persistent taunting from Pelicans fans on the sidelines. He then switched to the fans with about 2:02 left in the second quarter, with both teams lined up near the free throw line after Herb Jones was fouled by a Warriors forward in the act of shooting.

“He just kept calling me a woman,” Green said in his postgame presser. “It was a good joke at first, but you can’t keep calling me a woman. I have four kids, one on the way. You can’t call me a woman.”

At the end of the day, Green and the Warriors had the last laugh, as they moved to 9-6 on the year, while the Pelicans fell even further, stumbling to a 2-11 record.

Should the Warriors’ Draymond Green have been so offended by Angel Reese’s prank?

While the intent of the fan to taunt Green with the “Angel Reese” chant can never be known for sure, one would think that this was merely poking fun at the fact that the Warriors forward had some “mebounds.” It’s understandable that Green wouldn’t be amused when he hears it over and over, but being called a woman isn’t exactly something to lose your mind over. It’s not an insult to be called that.

Green knows how to ruffle opposition feathers almost better than anyone, so he should know better than to lose his cool over something that seems pretty harmless.
