Draymond Green didn’t like being compared to Angel Reese at all
Moses Moody he wasn’t the only one who got heated during the matchup between the Warriors and the Pelicans, Draymond Green was up in the towers at the end of the second quarter. After an error on Herb Jonesthe Warriors forward got mixed up with a New Orleans fan, who was sitting in the front row.
To understand the origins of this feud, we have to go back to the first minutes of the game. Draymond Green misses five shots in a row, but manages to grab four offensive rebounds without scoring a single one. The fan then took the opportunity to compare the Warriors player to the WNBA star, Angel Reeseregularly mocked on social media for her ability to grab offensive rebounds without being able to put the basket behind her.
A comparison that was repeated several times during this first period and which apparently did not sit well with the four-time NBA champion. “He kept calling me a woman”Draymond Green told reporters after the game. “It was a good joke at first, but you can’t call me a woman. I have four kids, a fifth on the way. You can’t call me a woman.”
“He’s the one who started it”
For his part, the fan in question explains that Draymond Green actually threatened to punch him if he continued to call him Angel Reese. “I didn’t say anything rude and the fact that he crossed the field to get within inches of me confused me a bit” says the supporter in question.
“He was the one who started talking” adds Draymond Green after the meeting. “When I got close, he didn’t have much to say, but it’s okay, let’s move on.
After this quick altercation, the Pelicans fan received a warning from Smoothie King Center staff and was able to remain in his seat without being ejected. Anyway, this isn’t the first time Draymond Green has gotten into trouble with a spectator as he was already fined in 2022 $25,000 fine for making vulgar comments about a Dallas fan present during the game between the Warriors and the Mavericks.
