Austin Reaves takes a hilarious G League hit on LeBron James after the Jazz win
LeBron James is back on the hardwood on Tuesday night after missing 14 games with sciatica, helping the Los Angeles Lakers picked up their 11th win of the new campaign, a 140-125 victory over the Utah Jazz. James has been working on his comeback over the last week, with one of the most important parts of his recovery being a job with the South Bay Lakers – the team’s G League affiliate.
James being in the G League was surreal considering he is arguably the greatest basketball player to ever exist, sparking thousands of jokes on the internet. Austin Reaves was one of those who joined the party, and he once again poked fun to the fact that James’ rehab process involved him spending some time in the minor leagues of the NBA, so to speak.
“He’s a pretty good G League player over there. … The G picked him up,” Reaves hilariously remarked after the Lakers’ win, per Jovan Buha of the Athletics.
The Lakers guard has previously joked about James’ involvement in the G League; after their big win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, a game Bronie James started while his father was with the South Bay, Reeves noted how “awesome” it was. for brony to start and lebron to be in the g league.
Reaves was on a tear when it came to the banter with his teammates, which just goes to show how much he is truly loved by his teammates. He even got Luka Doncic’s funny bone tingling, as Doncic joked with Reaves during the first postgame interview with Spectrum SportsNet.
Protect him at all costs, Lakers.
Austin Reaves of the Lakers is universally beloved – and for good reason

Reaves is such a good guy in the locker room, and he’s also one of the hardest workers on the Lakers team, making him as close to a perfect teammate as you can get.
There’s no arrogance about Reaves, and he’s always working hard to get better — hence his evolution from a hustle guy off the bench to one of the best scorers in the NBA. And his positivity and fun nature endeared him to both James and Doncic so much that he can joke around with them without causing hurt feelings.
