Chicago is getting big Kyler Gordon to go ahead of the Steelers’ tackle

it is great weather for the Chicago Bears. They are in first place in the NFC North at 7-3 and are ready to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

On Wednesday, the Bears received a positive update on CB Keeler Gordon’s status, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Gordon has been designated to practice and will open the window for 21 days. Recently, Gordon was on the injured list due to a hamstring injury.

In addition, he struggled with a groin injury. As a result of his absence, the Bears grabbed CJ Gardner-Johnson to fill the cornerback role.

Overall, Gordon is known for his versatility as a cornerback. He is a strong defender, breaks up plays and is good at deflecting passes.

After Sunday, the Bears have big games coming up. On November 28, they will play against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. After that, Chicago will play the Green Bay Packers on December 7th and then again on December 20th.

On December 14, they will play against the Cleveland Browns. Next, Chicago will play the San Francisco 49ers on December 28th and close out the season against the Detroit Lions on January 4th.

Ultimately, the Bears are looking to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

The Bears defense goes through periods of inconsistency

With and without Gordon, the Bears’ defense has seen ebbs and flows. They currently rank around 27th in total yards allowed.

However, they lead the league in rushing yards, rank 8th in passing yards allowed and points per game, and 5th in third down conversions allowed.

However, the absence of Gordon and Jaylen Johnson left holes in the defense. Additionally, they struggle to contain the run game.

If the Bears want to last the rest of the season, the defense needs to hold it together and stay intact.
