Josh Giddei does his best Caleb Williams impression against the Blazers

If ever Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddei he gets tired of playing basketball, he should try his luck in football. Or even rugby, perhaps?
The Bulls escaped the Portland Trail Blazers, 122-121, on Wednesday Nikola Vucevic drilled a three-pointer for the win at the buzzer, sending the Moda Center into complete despair.
Chicago extended its lead in the third quarter as it outscored Portland 36-24. Part of that was the laying of Isaac Okor thanks to a assist on the whole field from Giddei. He displayed Giddy’s vision as he took advantage of the Trail Blazers’ sluggish defense.
If you squint hard, Giddy looked like the quarterback of the Chicago Bears Caleb Williams in a moment.
The 23-year-old Giddy is coming off an All-Star campaign, averaging career highs of 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 9.7 assists. The Bulls have capitalized on his potential since acquiring him in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season.
While he may have lost his chance at a title with the Thunder, Giddy played elite basketball in Chicago, unlike in Oklahoma City, where he was forced into a minimized role behind Shai Gilgee-Alexander and Jalen Williams.
Giddei’s game and high IQ created a a more dynamic attack for the Bulls. His mentality in the past has helped the likes of Vucevic, Kobi White, Matas Bouzelis and Ayo Dosunmu to flourish in attack. He’s not too shabby on defense, as he can disrupt passing lanes.
Chicago nearly blew a 21-point lead as the Trail Blazers mounted a fierce rally in the fourth quarter. However, Vucevic and White managed to secure their eighth win in 14 outings.
