6 buzzer-beaters in the first 30 days of a season is a league record

The The NBA season has been nothing short of exciting to start in the first 30 days, and it feels like it’s going wire-to-wire almost every night. Those types of finishes sometimes come with buzzers, and the league has seen an increase in them, more often than in years past, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
“The NBA says its six players already in 2025-26 tie the league record for the first 30 days of a season, along with 2005-06 and 2014-15. There’s no doubt we’ve seen some really good results amid early-season injury woes,” Stein wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The latest buzzer beater came from Nikola Vucevic, as the Chicago Bulls were able to travel to Portland and defeat the Trail Blazers. There were other exciting finishes, with the first of the season coming from Austin Reaves as he hit a floater against the Minnesota Timberwolves with Luka Doncic and LeBron James sidelined.
Next up was Kawhi Leonard, who came up with his patented mid-range shot and knocked it down against the New Orleans Pelicans to give the Los Angeles Clippers a victory in the group stage of the NBA Cup.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was next, and he hit a turnaround against the Indiana Pacers to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to victory.
Buzzers gone crazy, ace Desmond Bain hit a deep 3-pointer against the Trail Blazers for the Orlando Magic to win. That same night, Andrew Wiggins caught a lob from the inbounds and laid the ball down to help the Miami Heat win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
There’s no doubt that this has been an exciting season to begin with, and this should show that things will only get better as the year goes on. It will be interesting to see how many total buzzers he has when the season is over.
