The ‘imminent’ Jonathan Cummings trade is getting louder

Jonathan Cumminga he seems to be back in the same situation he was in last season with Golden State Warriors. Once in the starting line-up, i now he is coming off the bench with the Warriors playing better basketball. This has caused trade talks to pick up again, and at this point they will hard to turn away that, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

“Chatter on another trade front is equally inevitable no matter how hard some of Jonathan Cumminga’s teammates — Jimmy Butler foremost among them — have tried to rally around the fifth-year swingman,” Stein wrote. “He’s not even eligible to be moved until Jan. 15, but it’s no secret that the Warriors’ firm stance all summer with Cummings in the restricted free agency saga was adopted with the intent of ensuring the 23-year-old is re-signed to a negotiable contract.”

Kuminga and the Warriors took the entire summer to the deal, and that’s where they ended up, with $22.5 million in salary this season and a $24.3 million team option for next season. If the Warriors I don’t see that fittingthey can pass from it in two months.

The question is who will want it?

“He is who he is, even though he’s on the younger side,” the East scout said, via ESPN’s Tim Bontemps . “He looked better and was trying to fit in, but he still falls back into old habits.”

“Who’s going to take it? And are they going to move it for things they don’t want, or are they just going to wait? It’s very difficult to find a job that makes sense for everyone.”

It’s uncertain what the next move will be for Cummings and the Warriors, but while he’s with the team, the only thing he can do is try to fit in and produce. He has shown he can be a key piece, but inconsistency has been the main problem.
