Matas Bouzelis suffers an injury in the NBA Cup game against the Heat

So far it is Chicago Bulls were getting a solid production by Matas Buzelis. As a result, they need to make sure he is healthy.

On Friday, it appeared for a moment that Bouzelis would be ruled out of the NBA Cup game against the Miami Heat. In the third quarter, Bouzelis was seen at the other end of the floor, on the ground, holding his right ankle. The game stopped immediately, and the players and coaches came to his aid.

In the end, Bouzelis had to to be wore from the floor. He gained weight, but he still needed help. After I returned to the trainer’s room, Buzzelis made a return by midway through the third quarter, much to the relief of the Bulls and their fans.

So far, Bouzelis is averaging 14.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Additionally, he is shooting 48.1% from the field and 40.3% from beyond the arc. Going into this season, Bouzelis himself declared himself worthy competing for the NBA Player of the Year award.

This comes on the heels of a stellar performance during the NBA Summer League. Last year, Bouzelis averaged 8.6 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Matas Bouzelis is as tough as they come.

Although in his second season, Bouzelis shows tremendous grit and determination. His versatile playmaking, athleticism and desire to become a high jump dunker set him apart.

He can attack the rim, shoot from anywhere on the floor and dunk quite nicely.

Overall, he has the potential to become a standout talent in the league. His offensive skills continue to grow little by little, but his defensive abilities and strength need to develop more. Additionally, Bouzelis should become much more consistent over time.

Regardless, Bouzelis has become to the Bulls what Dale Earnhardt was to Wrangler Jeans, one hard customer.
