LaMelo Ball responds to rumors and confirms his commitment to the Hornets
Once is not common, Hornets make headlines. Not because of their performances on the field, which remain disappointing season after season, but because of the turmoil behind the scenes: Yahoo! In fact, the sport has established itself that LaMelo Ball would be “open to non-franchise transfer”.
The next day, the leader was called upon to react… and above all to deny the rumour.
« He never heard it from me, so I’m not the source » so he clarifiedafter his training. ” This is just false information. »
A rumor that quickly spread through social media and media, LaMelo Ball even spoke out immediately on X/Twitter, posting a simple clown emoji to illustrate his thoughts on the matter.
« When they get too big, you have to say something » he assessed. ” It was so big there that it made the headlines on Bleacher Report and everywhere else, so I didn’t want it to continue. »
The objective hasn’t changed: turn on the Hornets
In the face of this turmoil, the Hornets were also quick to point out that LaMelo Ball remains a project figure and key to their future ambitions.
« That’s a big part of what we do offensively and defensively » for example recalled Charles Leehappy to see his leader so clearly reaffirm his commitment to the franchise that drafted him in 2020.
« I’m excited to hear what he had to say, because I could do a lot of similar things myself. » said the coach Charlotte. « Communication between LaMelo, (Jeff Peterson, GM) and myself is very important and I think he’s always made it clear to us that he wants to build something with us. He knows what you have to do to try to win, who you need, so I think he’s just committed to Charlotte. He’s already said how much he loves this city and the fans, that’s all I’ve ever heard and that’s what I’m focused on. »
Under contract for more than $130 million over the next three seasons, LaMelo Ball, for his part, says he prefers to focus on the court rather than the media noise.
« I love being here. I don’t say anything and just try to win, nothing more. That is what we will continue to do » he said optimistically. ” There are ups and downs. We are in a bad situation right now, but we will definitely recover in the end. I trust the whole group and everyone here. »
