Cooper Flagg already joins LeBron James in NBA history

As it is The Dallas Mavericks defeated the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, 118-115, in what was an NBA Cuo group game, it was another impressive game for the rookie Cooper Flagg. With Mavericks star in Flagg showing poise to star in the NBA, his performance put him in the same company as the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

At 18, Flagg would go on to record a career-high 29 points with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 12-of-19 from the field. According to Tim MacMahon, the only other eighteen year old James had at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in the game, adding to what has been a remarkable rookie season for Flegg.

What’s even more impressive is Flagg’s performance in clutch situations, scoring or assisting on four of Dallas’ last eight possessions on Friday. He’s even tied for sixth in the NBA with 31 points in clutch situations, garnering huge praise from head coach Jason Kidd.

“The key (situation), he’s not afraid,” Kidd said, according to ESPN. “We’re getting him the ball, and it feels like he’s been there before. To be able to score when you need a bucket, when everybody knows you’re coming at him, he’s intentional. For an 18-year-old, that’s pretty special.”
