The video shows Ja Morant sticking his finger right in Klay Thompson’s face

On Saturday night, Memphis Grizzlies won in a narrow way via the Dallas Mavericks to push their record to 6-11 in the young NBA season of 2025-26. The Grizzlies did it without play Ja Morantwho stopped this game due to injury, but was still present on the bench.
At one point shortly after the game, Morant could be seen talking trash to the Mavericks guard Klay Thompsonand now, a a newly discovered angle showed Morant pointing his finger right in Thompson’s face.
It’s unclear exactly what started the feud between the two, but the Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors, Thompson’s former team, certainly had a history, especially during the 2022 postseason, in which the Warriors sent Memphis home in six games in the second round of the Western Conference.
A lot has changed since then, with Thompson taking his talents to Dallas and Morant becoming known more for his off-court antics than his basketball prowess, which has declined significantly so far this year.
After the game, Thompson didn’t hold back when talking about Morant and the Grizzlies.
“It’s really just been on his lips, and he’s been talking for a long time,” Thompson said, per Bleacher Report’s Joseph Zucker. “It’s funny to talk about when you’re on the bench. It’s kind of the story of his career so far, only it leaves us wanting more.
“We all want to see him out there and do our best, but he just let a lot of other things get in the way of that.”
Thompson has also seen significant regression this season and missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds on Saturday.
It will be interesting to see if there is any leftover beef between Morant and Thompson when the Mavericks and Grizzlies next face off in late February.
