Knicks insider reveals eye-opening Anthony Davis trade discovery
As Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis continues to receive injury noticeshe’s also currently in the midst of a slew of trade rumors surrounding him this season. While it is the rumors surrounding Davis will continueone team that could check his status is New York Knicks.
In SNI’s Ian Begley and his latest column, answering people’s questions about New York, someone would ask the reporter if the team would look to address the need for a rim protector at the trade deadline. After mentioning several options, he would shift the discussion to Davis, saying that the team “I would at least apply” with the expectation that the big man will be available.
“This is obvious, but I’m sure the Knicks would at least check out Dallas if/when Anthony Davis becomes available,” Bagley wrote. “You may scoff at the idea, but the Knicks want to win a title this season. If Dallas is offering Davis below market value, I’m sure the Knicks will at least give the move some thought. But again, this is stating the obvious. The Mavs will get calls from almost every NBA team if/when they make Davis available.”
The Mavericks “still intend” to explore trade interest in Anthony Davis

Although it was announced that The Mavericks will explore the trade market for Davis, there was some pushback as Mark Cuban dismissed any idea that it was happening. However, insider Mark Stein would say Dallas has “still intend to express any trade interest” around Davis.
“League sources say the Mavericks remain intent on fielding any trade interest in Davis that arises over the next two-plus months with the prospect of an actual trade obviously dependent on the quality of the offer,” Stein wrote. “Davis, remember, has been healthy enough to appear in 14 of 48 regular-season games since becoming a Maverick because of serious adductor and calf issues.
Whether Davis gets a deal remains to be seen, but all eyes will be on the trade deadline if something happens.
