Stephen Curry got fans excited after unveiling the City Edition jersey

The Golden State Warriors will never fully heal the heartbreak Oakland residents suffered after watching the team leave for San Francisco in 2019, but the Dubs are remembering their roots this season. They debuted with their Uniforms City Edition 2025-26 on Monday 134-117 beat Utah Jazzpaying homage to his first home. “City” is displayed on the front of the jerseys. Stephen Curry doubled the tribute.

“For the city,” the NBA legend and face of the Warriors posted on X. Curry played at Oracle Arena for the first 10 years of his career, so these uniforms should hold a lot of sentimental value to him. Also a four-time champion he understands what the team means to Oakland. Although the Warriors now operate out of the Chase Center, they will forever be associated with 7000 South Coliseum Way.

Of course, no matter where Golden State plays or what it wears, fans can usually count on Curry to run the show. Despite shooting just 6-of-17 from 3-point range, the 37-year-old point guard scored 31 points on an efficient 50 percent shooting from the field. He added four rebounds, two blocks and a steal in the much-needed win.

While there’s certainly reason to applaud these new City Edition jerseys, the aesthetically pleasing and emotionally satisfying apparel doesn’t change the fact that these are largely the same Warriors that existed at the end of last season. An aging squad regularly faces injury problems and once again suffers a difficult start to the season. They can’t find themselves in the hole for the second year in a row. The physical toll required to fight back in the Western Conference is simply too much to survive.

Golden State (10-9) needs to get healthy and start building momentum quickly, because flashy jerseys shouldn’t be one of the best things fans can say about the team right now.
