The Kings asked the Grizzlies about the Ja Morant trade

Trade rumors swirled Memphis Grizzlies star I Morant in recent weeks. According to Michael Scott of HoopsHipe, Sacramento Kings are one of the teams that I signed up about the potential trade of Morant.

“The Sacramento Kings have been among the teams inquiring about Ja Morant’s availability and have indicated the franchise will evaluate the trade market for Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan,” Scotto wrote in a recent article.

I Morant trade?

Morant trade obviously that has yet to happen, but the Kings appear to be a team to watch before the NBA trade deadline. The rumors began amid previous rumors of tension between Morant and the Grizzlies’ coaching staff. Morant also dealt with injuries.

When healthy, He no longer looked like the player he used to be while on the floor. Some wondered if a fresh start was just what Morant needed to get back on track.

The Kings and Grizzlies battled to start the 2025-26 NBA season. Memphis is 6-12 overall, while Sacramento is 5-13. Despite the fact that Sacramento could be entering a rebuild, Morant could remain on their trade radar. At just 26 years old, the Kings could look to build around him should they acquire him in a trade.

At this point, a possible deal has yet to materialize and there are no signs that anything will happen. However, if the Grizzlies continue to underperform, it will be interesting to see if they begin to entertain inquiries about a potential Ja Morant trade.
