It’s time to put the Ravens on guard after the 5 turnover disaster against the Bengals

It couldn’t disappear much worse for the Baltimore Ravens against the Bengals. I players are even calling for changes. What’s more, it’s time for the Ravens to line up the offense after the five-turnover disaster against the Bengals.

The five-game winning streak ended for the Ravens, who fell to 32-14. Joe Burrow had a lot to do with it. And the Ravens were embarrassed.

He completed just 17 of 32 passes for 246 yards and an interception. He lost two loops. But worst of all, Jackson threw some of the most heinous passes he’s thrown in his NFL career.

Jackson had opportunities to make big plays. And he made several. But misses. It looked like his rookie year, when he completed just 58 percent of his passes, and people wondered if he could be a full-time NFL quarterback.

Is he hurt? Maybe. But he finally showed some bursts with his legs after two games of running on quicksand.

Furthermore, without Jackson playing at an elite level, the Ravens are not playoff worthy. Super Bowl worthy? It’s a joke.

Jackson tried to make it simpleaccording to ESPN.

“I just have to play consistently,” he said.

You think?

“I’ve got to make those throws,” Jackson said. “I don’t miss them in practice. So I shouldn’t miss them in the game.”

Lamar Jackson’s teammates support him

“I have no complaints,” Ravens tight end Mark Andrews said. “He is our man and I have full confidence in him. Football is a way of life. Sometimes bad things happen.”

Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton said they stand behind their leader.

“He’s a competitor and he’s one of the best two-time MVPs for a reason,” Hamilton said. “So even LeBron (James) has an off night.

At least James has chips. Jackson has zero. And Jackson didn’t even play for a chip.

Those guys need to play better though. Zai Flowers needs to stop sulking about Jackson’s terrible throws and stick to football. His fumble in the fourth quarter ended any hope of a comeback.

But there is good news for the Ravens

The Ravens are in the weak AFC North division. They just have to chase the Steelers. They were temporarily caught before the Bengals debacle.

However, they get two shots on the Steelers. First in week 14 at home. It has become a must-win game unless the Steelers lose to the Bills on Sunday.

Another piece of good news is that the defense was respectable. The Bengals’ 32 points had more to do with turnovers than anything else.

If Jackson gets back on track, the defense can help them win the division.

The NFL “experts” need to shut up

Cam Newton’s thoughts on the Ravens it has not aged well. Here’s what he said, according to First Take via baltimoreravens.com.

“As long as Lamar Jackson is in Baltimore, they’re always going to be a Super Bowl threat,” Newton said. “This team is built to be dominant in November, December and January, and have a chance to play in February. So, yes, they’re still a Super Bowl threat.”

Man, Cam. It’s the kind of take that ends your career on First Take. There must be legitimacy in your claims. You can’t keep throwing flowers at a team just because of what the guy did in the past.

Dan Orlovsky had a more realistic view.

“I’ve seen Lamar go one-on-one more this year than I’ve seen Lamar go one-on-one in his entire career combined,” Orlowski said. “I don’t think he’s even close to being healthy. Can they get there because of history and respect? Yes. But right now, this offense can’t win a Super Bowl.”

The remaining schedule will not be easy

In addition to playing the Eagles twice, the Ravens have the Bengals, Patriots and Packers on the road.

It’s possible the Ravens could lose all of those games. After a 1-5 start faded from memory with a push to 6-5, the Ravens look vulnerable again.

They would currently be underdogs in at least three of those games. We’ll see how that shakes out, but this team is in trouble unless Jackson returns to the way he played in 2025.
