Kawhi Leonard’s Jim Mora impression after another heartbreaking loss

Let me say The LA Clippers have struggled this season is a huge understatement. The team hasn’t been able to find consistency, and they sit near the bottom of the Western Conference standings at 5-15. The Clippers suffered another bad loss on Saturday against the underdog Dallas Mavericks, and Kawhi Leonard channeled his inner Jim Mora when talking about loss, according to Lou Murray of the Athletics.
“We have to worry about winning the game, first, before we think about any kind of championship,” Leonard said.
Kawhi Leonard is still on a minutes restriction since his return to the Clippers lineup from ankle and foot injuries. Injuries forced him to miss ten games. When he was benched in the second half due to the aforementioned limitation, the Clippers looked upset on the court.
But Leonard trusts the team should be able to solve those questions no matter who is on the floor.
“If we’re trying to win a championship, we need everybody. It’s not about the minutes played or any of that. We’re in these games, we should be able to finish,” Leonard said. “When we lose, it seems like they execute the game plan better. We have to do a better job of executing the game plan on our end.”
Leonard has appeared in a total of 10 games for the Clippers this season, logging just over 31 minutes per game. He averaged 25.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals on 51.1 percent shooting from the field, 42.9 percent from the 3-point line and a league-leading 98 percent from the free throw line.
