Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves are having fun with the Pelicans

Stripped of several executives, including Sion Williamson, Pelicans they were not able to do anything against the Lakers who were serious from the beginning and were carried by the duo Luka Doncic – Austin Reeves in very good form. After scoring 73 points against the Clippers, the two guards combined for 67 points in an easy victory (133-121). This is the 7th win in a row for the departed Lakers LeBron James at rest.

In a one-sided first quarter, Doncic and Reaves immediately set the tone: 13 points between them, while the Lakers were already leading 14-4. Reaves starts the second quarter with two 3-pointers to increase the deficit to +25 (52-27). Quinn and Bryce McGowens are the only Pelicans keeping pace, but the Lakers have many more weapons, and Gabe Vincent and Jake LaRavia are responsible for keeping the margin above 20 units (64-41). Both teams are skilled from long range, with the Pelicans finding color late in the first half with the unexpected Micah Peavy. At the break, there was still a 20-point difference (77-57).

Still, consecutively, the Pelicans find a second wind after returning from the locker room. Led by Sadik Bey and Jeremiah Fears, they’re back to -13, taking advantage of the struggling Lakers. Finally, it is Doncic who restarts the machine with a 4-point action (108-89). In the final act, Los Angeles regained control with the imperious Ayton in the racket, while Reaves took on Doncic. The deficit returns to over 20 points and the Lakers calmly lead this 7th victory in a row.

Hat-trick for Doncic and Reaves. Third match in a row with 30 or more points each for Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves. The Slovenian adds 12 rebounds and 7 assists, while Reaves distributes 8 assists. The two make up the most prolific duo in the league with nearly 64 points per game.

LeBron James spared? On Monday night, the Lakers continue their meeting with the Suns. Left to rest Sunday, will LeBron be there? This is not certain according to JJ Redick who explained that the staff remained cautious and more than spared him during the back-to-back games.

Aiton is a hit. Initially intimidating in the first half with three of his four blocks, Ayton then took the measure of the young Queen-Missy duo with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The Lakers needed a dominant interior to turn the corner, and they found it.
