Dillon Brooks’ harsh message after stopping LeBron James, Lakers

The Phoenix Suns snapped the Los Angeles Lakers’ seven-game winning streak after running away with a 125-108 victory at Cripto.com Arena on Monday.
The Suns bounced back from back-to-back lossesshocking the Lakers with a fiery first-half performance. Purple and Gold tried multiple times to get together, but Phoenix had an answer for everything.
Dillon Brooks was big for the Suns, scoring 33 points on 15-of-26 shooting. He added seven rebounds, 11 assists and one steal. He also helped limit LeBron James to just 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting.
Brooks, who was traded to Phoenix in the offseason, emphasized that their system is largely based on hard work and an underdog mentality.
“We’re composed and playing hard. That’s what we do every night,” the 29-year-old winger said in a post-match interview.
“Because we’re led by JO (Jordan Ott), our coach, he puts us in the right position to score and he trusts everyone to play. We go out there, run the offense and play hard. We’re not the biggest team, we’re not the celebrated team, but we go out there and play hard every night.”
While Brooks is mostly known for his brashness and defense, he has been a scoring weapon for the Suns in recent games. In 12 games in November, he averaged 22.1 points on 475% shooting.
His rivalry with James has been well-documented, with the Lakers star mostly overpowering Brooks. But on Monday, Brooks proved he’s never one to back down from a challenge.
