Ryan Nembhard is making NBA history with crazy stats
Throughout the season, Dallas Mavericks were looking for a solution to their problems with spic. D’Angelo Russell remained out of favor until the preseason. Cooper Flagg was overwhelmed as the team’s starting GM. Brandon Williams was not considered good enough. And so with Running out of options, the Mavs ran to Ryan NembhardtThe Indiana Pacers are guarding younger brother Andrew Nembhardt, who has done nothing but fill in admirably as the team’s starting point guard.
Nembhard was absolutely brilliant on Monday night in a 131-121 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. He finished with 28 points and 10 assists on terrific shooting (12-14 from the field, 4-5 from deep) while putting the Nuggets defense through the ringer all night. The Mavericks may have found their starting point guard for at least the foreseeable future, especially when the stat line he put up on Monday was historic.
According to Real Sports on X (formerly Twitter), Nembhard became the first point guard in NBA history to score at least 25 points and 10 assists without a turnover while posting a 100 percent shooting percentage — leading the Mavericks in the process.
It was an absolutely incredible performance that cements Nembhardt as a legitimate NBA-caliber player. While he won’t shoot 86 percent from the field every game he plays, it’s clear that he’s earned head coach Jason Kidd’s trust and there’s no reason for the Mavericks to replace him in the starting lineup.
It’s not entirely clear what the Mavs will do when Nembhardt reaches his NBA roster limit as a two-way player. But if he continues to play like he has, the Mavericks will have no choice but to make his contract standard.
The Mavericks are coming off a huge road win over the Nuggets

If there’s any guarantee for any team facing the Nuggets, it’s that Nikola Jokic will pop up for crazy stat lines regardless of the opponents. The Mavericks certainly saw it, and Jokic scored 29 points, 20 rebounds and 13 assists.
But the Mavs, buoyed by Nembhardt’s career night and a A 32-point night from Anthony Davisthey managed to pull off a hard-fought victory despite the height difference in Denver.
