LeBron James’ foot problem? “It’s called old age”

LeBron James (Lakers) vs. SunsLeBron Jamesspared Sunday against the Pelicans, he failed (like the others Lakers) to respond to the physical and rhythmic challenge imposed by the Sun.

The Arizona franchise dictated the pace with a consistent intensity that Los Angeles was never able to match (defeat 108-125). Hampered by a left foot injury that has plagued him for many months, “The King” looked rusty, very close to ending his streak of at least 10 points…

“They were clearly one step ahead of us”recognized as the best scorer in history in the locker room. “We played last night. I wasn’t involved in that, but we had to get our resources out to win this game. We took the lead early in the fourth quarter, but we had to play until the end. We looked like a team that needed a little more energy, especially against a team that plays like that. And they took advantage of that.”

This week off could justifiably raise some questions, with LeBron James already missing the first 14 games of the season with a back injury. But the Lakers star eased concerns with humor, a broad smile on his lips: “It’s called old age”he blurted out, laughing. “You know what I mean, you do. Wake up with something bad that you didn’t have the day before.”

No longer troubled by his health, LeBron James therefore continues his 21st season with only one idea: to be ready when the big deadlines come.
