Joel Embiid, Paul George on long injury report against Wizards

The Philadelphia 76ers enter tonight’s matchup against the Washington Wizards with more questions than certainty as the team’s injury report once again paints a worrisome picture. Joel Embiid and Paul George headlined a long list of unavailables or questionable players, a trend that has defined Philly’s season far more than expected.
Embiid, who has been out with a tag to recover from a right knee injury, has appeared in just seven games this season, continuing a stop-start rhythm that has made lineup consistency nearly impossible.
While the organization remains cautious, which is understandable given Embiid’s long-term importance, patience is finally wearing thin among fans eager to see the reigning MVP return to form.
Meanwhile, Paul George is listed as questionable to recover from a left knee injury and lower back tightness. The 76ers star played just five games, and despite an elite two-way impact in limited action, the availability cloud remains one of Philadelphia’s biggest obstacles.
The the list of injuries does not stop there.
Andre Drummond is questionable with a right knee contusion, Kelly Oubre Jr. remains out with a sprained left knee, Trendon Watford will sit with a strained left adductor and rookie Jared McCain, though available, will continue to play with a thumb splint after surgery.
Quentin Grimes probably has pain in his right calf.
At 10-9, the Sixers are hovering around .500, a record that reflects competitive resilience more than continuity or dominance.
Tyrese McKay carried the load on offense admirably in the absence of the team’s stars, but without Embiid and George constantly available, Philadelphia’s identity remains fluid and unfinished.
Tonight’s game against Washington, a tough opponent, could serve as a stabilization or another reminder that health remains the main story of the season.
For now, Philadelphia is waiting for health, rhythm and a paper-only version of this roster.
