Watch Jaylen Brown fly for a monster dunk over Jordan Clarkson
The The Boston Celtics are finding their footing a little. Of their previous four games Tuesday night against the New York Knicks, all have come against teams that made the playoffs last season. They went 3-1 during that stretch, setting themselves up pretty well for the matchup against their division rivals.
The Celtics were down by double digits early on when the Knicks came out of the gate firing. But this veteran Boston team knows there are still plenty of games left. Jailen Brownin particular, he made it his mission to set the tone for his team at both ends of the field.
In the second quarter, as the Celtics began a fierce rally from 14 down, Brown took it upon himself to throw the ball down the middle of the lane in transition and fly for monster two handed jam over Jordan Clarkson’s late bid for Boston’s lead.
This hot shot helped breathe a lot of life into a Celtics team that has since built a double-digit lead of its own. They turned the tide against the Knicks in a game that certainly means a lot more to them considering that it was New York that sent them packing from the playoffs last season.
Brown was brilliant in leading the Celtics’ offense on Tuesday, and this must continue for Boston to put away the Knicks. Boston is without Jayson Tatum, so the onus is on Brown to lead his team to victory in one of the toughest stretches of the early season.
It’s the Jaylen Brown show for the Celtics in Boston

At the time of writing, Brown has 29 points to lead all scorers. Only one other Celtics player has scored in double figures, so that will have to change if they want to go on and win the game.
On the season, the Celtics are 11-9, which is solid considering the roster changes they went through last offseason. They have been playing noticeably better basketball lately, and a win over the Knicks should help their playoff hopes this season.
