Why Joe Mazzulla liked Michal Bridges sizzling on Boston’s bench

The Boston Celtics he survived New York Knicks123-117, at TD Garden on Tuesday, with Jaylen Brown exploding for a career-high 42 points.
Brown struggled against strong Knicks defendersincluding Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart, but still came out on top, shooting 16-of-24 from the field. He also had four rebounds and assists.
Tension was high during the game, which was a rematch of last season’s conference semifinals. Bridges, who had a career-high 35 points, mocked the Celtics bench several times. Boston coach Joe Mazzullahowever, he said simply deleted Chirping bridges.
“I don’t mind those things. I like them. It’s part of the game. (It) keeps me going, and I thought the guys handled it well,” Macula said in a video posted by SNI.

Bridges was on fire against the Celtics, shooting 12-of-17 from the field, including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. He added six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Macula, 37, likes to play mind games himself, so he knows Bridges was just trying to get them out. The strategy, however, backfired on the 29-year-old winger.
But in the end, as Macula said, it’s just the competitive nature that comes to the surface. Bridges even acknowledged Mazzula’s work with the Celtics during his post-match interview.
“I think he’s a hell of a coach. They’ve got guys that are going to play hard and play smart. They’ve got a lot of talent. I know they beat guys or not here, but they got the next man up,” Bridges said in a video posted by CLNS.

The Celtics improved to 12-9, while The Knicks fell to 13-7.
