Luka Doncic will miss the Raptors tilt for personal reasons

The The Los Angeles Lakers have been down recently back to Earth, losing the way it blows up home of the Phoenix Suns in a game that was largely uncompetitive. The Lakers will now head into an East Coast matchup starting Thursday night against the Toronto Raptors, having recently received some bad news about the availability of one of their stars for that game.

Luka Dončić (personal reasons) will be OUT for Thursday’s game against the Raptors, the Lakers announced,” reported ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter.

Doncic played at an MVP level for the Lakers this season and currently leads the NBA in scoring, meaning the Lakers will need to beef up the committee to replace his impact on the court.

Making things a little more complicated for the Lakers is the fact that the team is on the back burner going into this game, with a road game against the Boston Celtics looming on Friday night from TD Garden.

That being the case, it wouldn’t seem particularly likely that LeBron James would play both ends of the back-to-back at this stage of his career and having recently returned from injury, so it will be interesting to see what his availability for the Toronto game, once known as LeBronto during his days in Cleveland, is as well.

Either way, the Lakers and Raptors are set to tip things off Thursday night at 7:30 PM ET from Toronto.
