Watch Anthony Davis practice before returning to the court

The Dallas Mavericks look to build on their momentum this Wednesday night as they put their two-game winning streak on the line against the visiting Miami Heat at the American Airlines Center.

The Mavs are gaining confidence, and presence of Anthony Davis they should strengthen their belief that they can win a third straight.

Davis, who has already missed a lot of games in the 2025-26 NBA season, has been noticed works in the field just before meeting with the Heat, as seen in a video shared by Mavericks reporter Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints.

Also helping Davis is the fact that this will be just his first home game for Dallas since the Mavericks beat the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 29, 107-105. Davis barely saw action in that contest, as he left injured in the first quarter and did not return, scoring just four points with four rebounds.

When healthy, Davis can take over a game on both ends of the floor, and the Mavericks hope to do that against the Heat.

He left Dallas fans impressed with his performance in the team’s previous game, as the former No. 1 overall NBA draft pick had 32 points and 13 rebounds with four assists and two blocks while shooting 13-for-23 from the floor in a 131-121 win over Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on the road last Monday.

A win over the Heat could also bolster the Mavericks’ belief that they can pull off an incredible feat on Friday when they travel to visit the reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder at the Paycom Center.
