Naz Reed throws shade at the Pelicans despite trying to get caught
Naz Reid shot at New Orleans Pelicans after a 125-116 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night.
Reed is in the seventh season of his NBA career, all with the Timberwolves. His growth in the rotation has been incredible, standing out as one of the best sixth men in the league.
In 33 minutes of action, Reed finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks and a steal. He shot 6-of-13 from the field, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, and 3-of-3 from the free throw line.
Reid reflected on the victory after the game, according to reporter Chris Hine. He admitted that Minnesota didn’t play its best, especially against New Orleans.
“We’re not the best version of ourselves right now, and that’s OK. … We still have our last four wins. I think sometimes somehow, no disrespect to the Pelicans, I think sometimes we can’t cut the competition short. That’s what hurts us sometimes,” Reed said.
As Naz Reid, the Timberwolves played against the Pelicans

Naz Reed is right to see that the Timberwolves haven’t been perfect in their recent games. Despite that, they remain in the win column after defeating the Pelicans.
The game was close through the first three quarters of regulation, with Minnesota down by two in the fourth. However, the Timberwolves came alive in the final 12 minutes of the game, outscoring New Orleans 37-26 in that frame.
Perimeter shooting and blocking made the difference in this matchup. The Timberwolves won in both categories, making 15 3-pointers and blocking 10 shots. It was not the same for the Pelicans as they made only seven three-pointers and blocked three shots.
Seven players scored in double figures for Minnesota in the win, including Reed. Julius Randle led the way with 28 points, nine rebounds and three assists. He shot 9-of-18 overall, including 2-of-3 from downtown and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. Rudy Gober was next with 15 points and 12 rebounds, Donte Di Vincenzo had 15 points and four rebounds, while Jayden McDaniels had 14 points and seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Jalen Clark contributed 12 points, and Anthony Edwards had 11 points and six rebounds.
Minnesota improved to a 14-8 record on the season, holding onto sixth place in the Western Conference standings. They are one game ahead of the Phoenix Suns and 3.5 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors, while trailing the Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets by 1.5 games.
The Timberwolves will be looking forward to their next match as they are at home. They host the Los Angeles Clippers on December 6th at 8pm ET.
