The Warriors C team is coming to win in Cleveland!

I Cavaliers – Warriors always remains special, especially when both teams are in desperate need of a win to move up the rankings. In “back to back”, Cleveland he certainly looked the favorite without the three Curry – Butler – Green held in front, only that the reality on the ground demonstrated the opposite and Golden State came to create a surprise, with five players with 10 or more points.
If the first quarter is a real basketball mess, with a lot of clumsiness on both sides – regardless of the distance – and an obvious lack of cleanliness with the ball in hand, the Cavs are the ones who do “the best” (18-12). However, this won’t get any better as, aside from Evan Mobley who can shoot close to the rim, Cleveland’s shooters are lacking in three-point shooting: just 3 of 21 in the first half!
Even when they dominated the rebounding, offering more ammunition to their opponents, the Warriors are playing better and above all finding skill as the minutes tick by. Around Quinten Post and Buddy Hield, the collective is better established, everyone – except Jonathan Cuminga – contributes effectively, and the gap widens as the 3-pointer falls (45-36). We almost forget that Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green are absent.
Cleveland on AC
On the Cavaliers side, the energy is still the lowest, despite the break, and the gap continues to widen. Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell can wake up (a little), they don’t pull their group and Golden State has the same answer to everything, while danger comes from everywhere (except Jonathan Cumminga, once again).
We have a feeling that the Cleveland players have only seen a slight increase in skill since the restart of this game. That’s evidenced by watching them string together a few 3-pointers as the lead quickly closes to one possession. The problem is that Pat Spencer comes out of his box and brings Gary Payton II with him, to bring the Warriors back to +10. Then Donovan Mitchell pushed, with Evan Mobley under the circle, 14-4 which brought the match to -3.
The free throw game finally begins, Darius Garland drops one on the way, as does Guy Santos, and that leaves Donovan Mitchell with the tying shot. He did not find the target at the 3-pointer, and the surprising Pat Spencer then dropped the match at the line (99-94). And to think that Golden State got off to a terrible first quarter…
TO BE REMEMBERED
– Golden State is getting back into balance nicely. It’s the kind of success that few could count on. Without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler or Draymond Green and with Jonathan Cummings sinking (4 points at 1/10), the Warriors found a way to win in Cleveland, to turn around at 12-12 before the “back-to-back” in Chicago. They can thank Buddy Hield, Quinten Post, Guy Santos or Trace Jackson-Daviswho all offered interesting minutes, especially Pat Spencer, who for his first start provided a fiery last quarter (12 points). At a time when the Cavaliers were threatening.
– Cleveland is definitely not cured. After two wins in three games, the Cavaliers continue to yo-yo, losing for the fifth time in two weeks. Unable to find the skill (just 35% overall, including 24% from 3-point range), they were saved for a long time by their impressive number of offensive rebounds (24!), but such a lack of play should have been punctuated by a loss. The desire of the main players in the team still raises questions and playing AC at the moment will not be able to achieve much in the long term. Luckily, the upcoming schedule is affordable…
