Why Norman Powell, Miami not ‘concerned’ about recent decline?
MIAMI – With The Miami Heat lost to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night, 127-111, marks the team’s fourth loss in its last five games. As it is Players are missing due to injurylike Davion Mitchell and Tyler Hero, it was still a disappointing performance, though there doesn’t seem to be much concern from Norman Powell.
While there may be some fans concerned about Miami’s recent games, seeing how opposing teams have been able to slow down their fast-paced offense, this is a natural progression of the process. When the Heat implemented their new offensive philosophy with positive results, teams scouted it and found some solutions, because now is the time for Miami to find a counter.
“I don’t think we’re too worried right now,” Powell said after scoring 18 points in a loss to Sacramento. “If you look at four of five and go back and see how we lost those games and where we are, we could easily be 4-1. But we just have to get back to who we are, back to our identity, offensively, defensively, especially in this game.”
“There’s no excuse for back-to-back,” Powell continued. “But just tightening up the little things and the way we want to play, the flow and the style of play we want to get back to that we’ve had all year so far. We’ll tighten some things up, take it off tomorrow, let our bodies rest and recover.”
Norman Powell would say “I don’t think we’re too worried at the moment” about losing four of their last five games.

Erik Spoelstra about the lack of “juice” heat

After that The Heat are coming off a tough loss against the Orlando Magic on Friday, the team had a great opportunity on Saturday to get down to business against a five-game Kings team. However, despite the good start, Miami “I didn’t have much juice” throughout the game, as head coach Erik Spoelstra told ClutchPoints.
More surprisingly, defensive activity was low as despite Mitchell’s absence the team hung up their hats on that side of the floor as Zach LaVine would finish the contest with 42 points as his every play demoralized the Heat.
“We didn’t have a lot of juice on both ends of the floor,” Spoelstra said. “And when LaVine went for his first two threes and then he had that third one on a pick-and-roll pullback, you could tell he was in a great flow and we weren’t doing much to disrupt him. Yeah, I’d say it was our ineffectiveness on offense that led to some of our defensive inactivity.”
“It wasn’t one of our better games,” Spoelstra continued. “We’re going to regroup. I want the guys to rest as much as possible. We have a practice day, which is good. I think we need to get back in the gym and just fine-tune some things and get ready for Tuesday.”
Asked Erik Spoelstra about the activity level on both sides of the ball that led to a disappointing outing against the Kings:
“We didn’t have a lot of juice on both ends of the floor… It wasn’t one of our finer games. We’ll regroup…”
