Paolo Banchero shares his true feelings about Desmond Bain in the team

The Orlando Magic have fallen early in the playoffs the past two seasons, suggesting they had to do something big in the offseason to try to overcome the problem. They needed more shooting and attacking, and they got their man in Desmond Bain in the blockbuster trade.

It took some time for Bane to adjust to his new home team, but he seems to be at his most comfortable now. He certainly flew Tuesday night during the Magic’s 117-108 win over the Miami Heat in NBA Cup quarterfinal action, dropped 37 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter alone, to lead the team to victory. Bane couldn’t have stepped up at a better timewhat about Franz Wagner out with an ankle injury and Paolo Banchero still dealing with the minute limit.

After the game, Banchero gave props to his new Magic teammate and revealed just how helpful Bane has been to the team.

“He’s been a hell of a scorer, a shooter, a player in general since he’s been in the league. Obviously, he did it there in Memphis. And now he’s here doing it in Orlando. I definitely love that Desmond is there,” Banchero said via the official NBA account on X (formerly Twitter). “He played great.”

Banchero missed time earlier in the season with a groin injury, and the Magic have been able to hold down the fort in his absence. But with Wagner’s injury coinciding with Buncher’s return, it’s imperative that the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA draft be rounded up quickly.

He scored 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists with one block in 32 minutes of play. Expect him to be at his best on Saturday night when they take on the winner of the New York Knicks-Toronto Raptors NBA Cup semifinals in Vegas.
