NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder 138-89 Phoenix Suns – Thunder equal 25 game record
The Oklahoma City Thunder tied the best 25-game season start in NBA history as they defeated the Phoenix Suns 138-89 in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup.
The defending champions, the Thunder have won 24 of their first 25 games, tying the record set by the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, last season’s MVP, scored 28 points at the Pike Center, scoring 20 points for the 96th straight game.
It was a record 16th straight win for the Thunder, who face the San Antonio Spurs in the semifinals on Saturday in Las Vegas.
“Winning is never boring,” Thunder forward Jalen Williams said.
