Zach LaVine is out with an injury as Sacramento tries to upset the Nuggets

The Sacramento Kings will face the Denver Nuggets, and they will be without one of their best scorers in the competition. Zach LaVine is out with thumb injuryand they’ll have to find another way to upset one of the best teams in the league, especially since they’ve already done it earlier this season.

The Kings were coming into the game on an eight-game losing streak and had just lost by 41 points to the Memphis Grizzlies, who were without Ja Morant and Jaron Jackson Jr. Some would have thought things would only get worse from there for the Kings, but they were able to pull away 128-123 against Nuggwitz.

It was a collective team effort, and LaVine poured in 15 points in the win. They’ll have to find somewhere else to get those points from this time, and the Nuggets will be back to avenge that loss.

Since that win over the Kings, things haven’t gotten much better as they struggle to climb the Western Conference standings. They were without Domantas Sabonis the last few weeks, having suffered a meniscus injury, and there’s no doubt they missed him.

For now, players like LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder have had to step up as much as they can.

Things didn’t seem to work out with LaVine and the Kings this season, and there was a question about whether he fit in with the team. After the victory against the Miami Heat, where he scored 42 points, he had an interesting quote that says a lot about how he feels about the team’s struggles this season.

“I can do it any night if they give me the damn ball enough,” LaVine said, via Ciro Asseo of Hoopshipe on X, formerly Twitter.
