LeBron James doesn’t want to add a chapter to the Dillon Brooks beef

It’s no secret that Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James and Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks have one of the most contested games in the NBA. Fans and pundits were treated to another stage of the feud during the Lakers’ 116-114 win on Sunday.

After Brooks drained a clutch 3-pointer to give the Suns the lead with 12.2 seconds left in regulation, he went toe-to-toe with James, earning a technical foul and getting ejected in the process.

Although James missed a technical free throw, he was fouled by Suns guard Devin Booker on the ensuing possession as he attempted a 3-pointer, and made two of three shots from the charity stripe, helping the Lakers capitalize on Brooks. bad weather error.

“He’s going to compete. I’m going to compete,” James told reporters after the game. “We’re going to get in each other’s faces. We tried not to go to the border with it … And we did that almost until the end of the game.”

James scored 26 points, 3 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks, while Brooks had 18 points, one rebound and one steal.

A dispute between two players started during the 2023 playoffs when Brooks called James “old” while playing for the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Yeah, I think there’s a history there,” Booker told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “I like to see that. People always say it’s too friendly in the NBA, and then Dillon comes along and now it’s too much. Well, like I said, I’d rather it be different — that it’s too much.”

It remains to be seen if there will be another flare-up between James and Brooks, but their latest exchange certainly benefited the older and more experienced person.
