Alperen Sengun becomes 100% realistic because he doesn’t get the same calls as Nikola Jokic

On Monday evening, The Houston Rockets are down to 16-7 with a tough loss on the road to the Denver Nuggets. Questionable shot attempt at the last second, Alperen Sengun he was mostly excellent in this one, scoring 33 points with ten rebounds and ten assists in the loss.
After the game, the Rockets turned their attention to the officiating crew, with Ime Udoka calling them “all-star” and giving Denver what he considered unfair calls during the game, according to ESPN.
Sengun also spoke further perceived disparity between the calls he gets and the calls Denver star Nikola Jokic received throughout the game.
“I don’t know. He’s a three-time MVP. I’m sure he didn’t even get calls when he was my age. I’ll get there eventually. He’s been doing all this to get here,” Sengun said, according to Alperen Sengun Stats on X, formerly Twitter.
It should be noted that Jokić committed a foul in this game, so it is not as if the referees were particularly favorable to him.
All in all, this was a tough loss for the Rockets, especially considering they were playing a very low-key Denver team, with Aaron Gordon and Christian Brown already out and Peyton Watson out during the game with an injury.
However, the Rockets are still in a good position in the West and have certainly benefited from playing fewer games than most teams in the NBA to this point in the season. It will be interesting to see how Houston reacts when the schedule starts to ramp up.
Either way, the Rockets will next take the floor Thursday night on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans, before returning to Denver again on Saturday.
