Dollars go to “big game hunting” to help Giannis Antetokounmpo

In the weeks and months leading up to the NBA trade deadline, one of the biggest questions is What will the Milwaukee Bucks do with Giannis Antetokounmpo?. Amid reports that the Bucks and Antetokounmpo have begun dialogue about the superstar’s potential future with the franchise, the team is reportedly ready to go all-inin the next couple of months.
In an effort to continue trying to build a contending team around Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks are reportedly lean towards becoming customers at the NBA trade deadline, according to Jake Fisher of the Stein Line. Fisher notes that one rival general manager is adamant that the Bucks want to add major players to their roster via trades to get Giannis more help.
Fisher notes that some of the names that have been floating around in terms of interest from the Bucks include Zach LaVine, Jerami Grant, Andrew Wiggins, Dejounte Murray, Marcus Smart and PJ Washington.
Antetokounmpo is currently sidelined with a calf injury, and that obviously puts things on hold, but he looks to be the main domino in terms of how the NBA trade deadline will shape up this year.
Giannis appeared in 17 games this season, in just over 29 minutes. He is averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists on 63.9 percent shooting from the field, 43.5 percent from the 3-point line and 63.5 percent from the free throw line.
The 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo has played his entire career so far with the Bucks. He reportedly hasn’t officially requested a trade, and the rumors are sure to grow as the deadline approaches.
