Mike Brown’s clear stance on hanging the NBA Cup banner at MSG

Not even a year after his first stay in New York Knickscoach Mike Brown already has a feather in his cap after leading the team to NBA Cup title on Tuesday after defeating the San Antonio Spurs, 124-113.
The Knicks were all smiles at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas when they were presented with the trophy. It’s easy for them to be happy, because they are also insured for over $530,000 each.
After the game, Brown did not hide his pride. He was also clear about their next move after the tournament triumph in the season.
“The most positive thing is that you can hang the banner in MSG (Madison Square Garden), the most famous arena in the league,” the 55-year-old coach said in a video posted by SNI.
The Knicks haven’t raised the championship banner at Madison Square Garden since winning the 1973 NBA Finals.
Jalen Branson led the Knicks against the Spurs with 25 points, four rebounds and eight assists.
