The Nuggets are coming off a win against the very attractive Magic
If Nikola Jokic individually dominates the debates, it is Orlando who takes control of the game in the first quarter, with two patient teams offensively. Magic gets reinforcements with Goga Bitadze, very interesting in defense (25-32). Another positive entry for Magic, Jase Richardson, very active in defense and attack. The Nuggets, awkward with 3 points, remain behind.
Then the address returns, led by a transformed Jamal Murray. The winning shots fell and with 22-3 by the end of the first period, the balance of power completely changed (68-54).
Jamal Mosley’s troops are stunned and the 2023 champions take control. However, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. fight back and manage to bring the Magic back under ten points. Denver is still ahead at the start of the final quarter (99-85).
The minutes tick by and nothing seems to be able to stop Denver, especially when Nikola Jokic and his gang are hitting 3-pointers. In the shadows, the Paolo Banchero-Wendell Carter Jr. duo continues to score and, seriously, the Magic are eating into their deficit. There are only six points with 90 seconds left in the game… Finally, Cam Johnson scores from behind the arc and the Nuggets end up winning 126-115.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
– Jamal Murray’s second quarter. After a good start to the match, the Magic will face the star Jamal Murray. For several minutes, the playmaker gave his all and scored 20 points on 5/6 on 3-pointers. The Canadian scored only two points less than the entire Florida team in these twelve minutes! Denver won this quarter with a score of 43-22 and took control of the game.
– Orlando fought until the end. Buoyed by Murray’s heatstroke, David Adelman and his players never relinquished the lead. They faltered just a bit as Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. didn’t give up, with 39 points between them in the second half (52 total), managing to get back within six points in the final seconds. The former gave a strong copy with 26 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists, and Jamal Mosley, despite the loss, can be pleased to see how his troops did not raise the white flag when the difference was significant.
– Sixth win in a row for Denver. After the success against HoustonJokić, Murray and company continue to win with their sixth success in a row. That’s currently the best streak in the league, tied with New York, who just won the NBA Cup, and Denver is second in the Western Conference, behind the Thunder.
