Chris Finch was fined $35,000 for his tirade at the refs during a Thunder game

Recently, the Minnesota Timberwolves got a big win at home via the Oklahoma City Thunderseeking some revenge for last year’s loss in the Western Conference finals in the process. One notable moment occurred in that game when he was the head coach of the Timberwolves Chris Finch is dismissed out of the competition for excessively complaining to the referees in a vicious tirade in the first half.
Now, the NBA has handed over further punishment to the Timberwolves coach for his actions.
“Chris Finch has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for using inappropriate language toward officials and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection Friday at Timberwolves-Thunder,” ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter, reported.
Finch’s tirade came just six minutes into the game against the Thunder and certainly may have helped give his team an extra spark the rest of the way.
Minnesota did eventually find some other calls they found questionable later in the game, especially toward the end, when things got ultra-physical in the playoff atmosphere at Target Center.
However, the fact that his team was able to pull out a win certainly made the sending off and subsequent punishment easier for Finch.
Either way, the Timberwolves are now an impressive 18-10 on the season, right at the top of things in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture. They will next take the floor Sunday night at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. That game is expected at 7:00 PM ET.
