LA gets Luka Doncic, Austin Reeves injury update vs. Suns

For the third time this season, Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns will meet as they meet at the Mortgage Matchup Center on Tuesday.

The series is tied between the conference rivals at 1-1, with The Lakers won the last fight on December 15 in a wild finish, 116-114. Luka Dončić he led the team with 29 points, three rebounds and six assists.

Doncic, however, will sit their upcoming clash due to a knee contusion, per the injury report shared by Brett Siegel of CluthPoints. Austin Reavesmeanwhile, it could trigger his return from a calf strain after being upgraded to questionable.

Also out for the Phoenix are Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent with groin soreness and back strain, respectively.

Reaves missed the last game against the Suns. He has not played since being eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup.

If he’s still not healthy enough to suit up, and with Doncic, Hachimura and Vincent out, the Purple and Gold will need committee work led by LeBron James. Marcus Smart, Jared Vanderbilt, Jake LaRavia and Nick Smith Jr. are all expected to step up and get increased playing time.

The Lakers are atop the Pacific Division at 19-8, including 12-4 on the road.

The Suns, on the other hand, have a 15-3 record, including 9-5 at home.

Their third meeting will be interesting, to say the least, especially with the growing rivalry between James and Dillon Brooks.
