Rick Carlisle’s request that Neemias Cueta elbow Jackson

The NBA is on fire right now. The Eastern Conference will be a much tougher conference than many expected, while the West is still full of elite teams. The Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics met at Bantown on Monday night, and The Celtics came back from 20 points down to win in front of their home fans.

During Monday night’s intense game, Celtics center Neemias Cueta elbowed Pacers player Isaiah Jackson after Jackson blocked a shot attempt by Cathy. The incident could potentially have been avoided, and the Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle is he is not happy about it.

“I don’t know what the exact rule is,” Carlisle said after Indiana’s 103-95 loss to Boston on Monday night (via ESPN ). “I think it was 4:30 or 4:32 left in the first quarter, there was a play where Keta elbowed Isaiah Jackson and then elbowed him a second time at the same time. Then he has to come out for concussion observation and then he couldn’t come back.”

“I hope the league looks at it. It was a play that I felt should have been seen in real time. It didn’t seem random and it’s very dangerous.”

Carlisle isn’t sure how long Jackson will be out.

“I don’t know how long he’s going to be out, but it’s pretty serious,” Carlisle said. “The show that happened, it was simply not to be missed.”

The Celtics will travel to Indiana for a quick rematch after Christmas on Friday. Stay tuned for updates on whether the NBA will review the game involving Keta and Jackson.
